École primaire Sainte-Anne

Breathe new life into your old clothes!

For its fundraising campaign, École primaire Sainte-Anne is mobilizing for a grand clothing and textile drive. Families, friends, get involved and drop off your clothes until May 17, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., directly located at 166, chemin des Outaouais, Île-du-Grand-Calumet (Québec) J0X 1J0.

The funds derived from the clothing drive will help finance the end-of-year trip to Mont Cascade.

Accepted materials: All the clothing for men, women and children, handbags, scarves, hats, gloves, furs, shoes, sheets, towels, curtains, leather accessories, as well as toys in good condition. We only accept what is in good condition and can be reused. Heavily soiled and dirty clothing will be removed before weighing. The Super Recyclers are not able to accept pillows, carpets and skates.

Why recycle clothing and textiles?

  • 190,000 tonnes of textiles are thrown away by Quebecers every year. Why not let your school take advantage of that?
  • 2500 litres of water are used to produce a cotton t-shirt; for a pair of jeans, 11,000 litres are used.
  • It takes 1 to 5 years for wool gloves or socks to decompose. For leather shoes, from 25 to 40 years, and textiles, from 100 to 500 years.
